Father's Eulogy
With eyes wide open
he took the pain
the weight of old age
had finally won.
He chose nightfall
for, it is significant.
Because he is free.
Freedom comes
into the night
and onto the fight.
With broken chains
freedom from suffering
and pain...
The weight of old age
and not by violence
under the watchful eyes
of his son.
The soldier is gone
to glory.
The people
may never know
the struggle, his victories
defeat and sorrow.
My father, the soldier
fought the good fight
against tyranny.
On his way to touch
the face of God
he saw Toto Laleau
his best friend
leading the way
towards the stairway
to heaven
and salvation...
R.I.P - Father's second-year.
In two weeks,
he would have been 92.
