They came as far south as Texas and northward from states like Maryland and Virginia. The K-9 Motorcycle club rolled in and occupied the parking lot of the Doubletree Hotel in a well organized fashion.
The once quiet atmosphere of Tampa's Rocky Point waterfront was awakened yesterday at 10 am by loud muffler noises on May 26, 2022 to welcome the participants of its annual bike event.
The once secured arm entry to the hotel's parking lot is no longer operational as the influx of young people, dressed in green and black uniforms continued throughout the day.
Curious, I left my hotel room in a hurry, took the elevator from the sixth floor and got off at the ground level. I originally aimed at interviewing some folks while taking successive pictures of the parking area.
By 2:00 pm the Doubletree hotel lobby was swarmed. I went to lunch at the nearby mall and upon my return, the crowd was still growing.
The K-9 Motorcycle club members (their numbers could easily be 500) will participate in a parade today at 1:00 pm in downtown Tampa.
The logistics and coordination required to make such an event a reality is beyond comprehension. But, they did it!
There is strength in numbers. I am so proud to have witnessed something so positive. Hats off, to all the members of the K-9 Motorcycle Club!
