We are hours away from the all English European League Champions final between Manchester City and Chelsea. Predictions are pouring in. Soccer analysts are excited and soccer fans from all over the world are on edge...16,500 privileged few are going to be on the stands to cheer and witness the biggest soccer event of the 2020-2021 season.
Who's going to win, by how many goals?
Even though I don't have a dog in the race. Looking at their past performances during the playoffs, I would think Manchester City is on the driver seat to win the championship. That could happen today if and only if they bring their A game to the pitch.
On the other hand, the Chelsea name carries a lot of weight. They have history on their side for having won eleven English league titles. I am intrigued by their resilience and determination during the playoffs.
Overall, this is one heck of a blockbuster event that should not be missed...
Soccer is a ninety-minute running game. Unfortunately, Manchester City failed to show up until late...it was the superior team on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Chelsea's defense and counter attack strategy worked. It shows the team with most ball possession and dominant is not often the winner in a game where the championship is on the line.
Final score: Chelsea 1 Manchester City 0
